Established in 1984, ETC – a locally owned business based in Bellevue, WA – strive to provide a quality travel service to corporate travelers, leisure travelers and travel managers alike. What we are most proud of is our record of staff retention. This is key to providing a seamless service to our clients. Each of our consultants has a home office, but also spend days working in our head office on a rotation basis. This creates a healthy working atmosphere whilst also helping the environment, due to reducing the daily commute. Our team of consultants have each worked in the travel industry for more than 20 years and for ETC for more than 15 years.

What we do is quite simple

We make life as easy and as comfortable as possible for the traveler, we simplify the workload of a travel manager, and we put a smile on the face of the company accountant. We build a profile of each of our travelers and use that information to source the best possible deals, routes and hotels. We organize meetings and conferences, team building activities, hotel dining events, tours and dream vacations.

The devil is in the detail. We help with visas; we reserve preferred seats and in-flight meals; we book hotels based on both your requirements and budget; and we can arrange to have your favored driver pick you up from the airport. If you ask us to organize a group meeting or conference – wherever that may be in the world – then we will arrange the space to suit your vision; from the layout, down to table decorations. Depending on the size of the meeting we can also negotiate down the air fares and room rates.

How we do it is a little more complicated

We use software and modern technologies to help us streamline travel but we do not rely on them.

Travel used to be a simple thing; people would book a seat on one of the few available flights and, if it was for business, they would put their receipts in an envelope and when they got back to the office they would uncrumple them, put them in date order and try to remember exactly what they were for.

Traveling in today’s fast-moving world could be much more complex, but the systems we have in place mean that it is actually simpler than back in the day.

Our services have become more sophisticated in line with technological advances. For all services, from online booking to integrated expense reporting, we use Deem and Concur. Our clients can rest assured though, that if they are booking their own flights, we check each and every reservation to ensure that it is the best value for both the traveler and the company.

We like to build long-term business relationships with travelers and businesses. A demonstration of our resolve is the fact that we don’t charge to set up and maintain Deem and Concur; we also provide training. A quick search shows that most agencies charge large, upfront fees.

Our team are required to be as knowledgeable about international travel as they are domestic, for both the business and leisure travel markets alike. To highlight just one of the ways that this benefits our clients we can look at the international rate desk. In order to supply our clients with almost instantaneous international pricing and ticketing, our consultants are international rate desk trained; this means that our travelers don’t have to wait around for a rate desk to confirm costs.

Should any of our travelers need help out of office hours, then they can choose to be transferred to Travel Helpline; a company that we have worked with and trusted since 1997.

How we do it is a little more complicated

From travel managers in the largest companies to individual holidaymakers, via small companies, groups of leisure travelers and corporate event management companies.

Our business ethic is to create happy travelers and happy accountants. We generate profiles for each of our travelers. In this way, we can be confident that they will be happy with their flights and accommodation and the accountant can rest assured that we won’t go over budget.

Where do we add value?

We provide value by ensuring that our average ticket price comes out lower than any other agency. Our ability to add value is down to our experience in the industry. We travel extensively and can often provide tips and tricks that will help you to get through a particular airport, for example.

Business travelers often have time to kill and we can advise on local events and things to see and do. Obviously though, we don’t know about every corner of the world and this is where our TravelSavers global network consortium comes into play. We partner with other quality, mid-size travel agencies around the world, so that our travelers can rely on local knowledge and support.

What works for a business traveler also applies to someone traveling for leisure purposes. If something goes wrong, then there is no substitute for local knowledge and advice. All it takes is a call, an SMS or email to our office and we can immediately begin to resolve the problem.

Using Technology

We've taken a very simple approach to technology at Executive Travel Consultants. We use technology extensively and intensely. But we don't let technology drive us. Rather, we drive technology by applying it where it makes sense. And using people where people make sense. For all the advances made in online reservation system technologies, report generators and the like, none are quite perfect.
